Powder Coating vs Normal Paint: What’s the Real Difference?
People in Raipur often ask if powder coating is just fancy paint. It is not. Paint is wet. Powder coating is dry colour that sticks to metal with an electric charge, then it is baked so it holds.

How powder coating works
The colour starts as a dry powder. We spray it onto metal. The powder holds because of a charge, so it does not run like wet paint. Then the piece goes into heat. The powder melts and becomes a hard film.
That is why you do not see drips and runs the way you do with a brush or a wet spray gun. The coat sits more even on a gate, a grill, or an aluminium profile.
At Shree Balaji Coat in Bhanpuri we do this job work on aluminium, iron, and other metal. We do not make the powder. We coat the work you send.
How normal paint is different
Normal paint is liquid. It can sag on a vertical grill. It can show brush marks. It can need a second coat. Rain in Chhattisgarh is hard on a thin paint film, especially on outdoor iron.
Paint is still used on many jobs. It can be right when the item cannot take heat, or when you only need a quick indoor coat. For outdoor metal that must look even, powder coating is the method we use every day.
Look, chips, and fading
A baked powder coat is a thicker, even skin on the metal. It is harder to chip than many household paints. Sun and rain still matter. A badly cleaned surface will fail sooner, paint or powder.
If colour must match other windows, check a real sample plate. Photos on a phone lie a little. See our colour board in Raipur or send a colour code on WhatsApp.
Which one should you pick?
Pick powder coating for gates, grills, aluminium windows, metal furniture, and factory parts that can go through the oven. Pick wet paint only when the item cannot be coated this way. If you are not sure, send a photo.

No. The metal must take the process and the heat. Send a photo and we will say if we can coat it.
